About

Whiskers & Wine is TEAM's premier fundraising event. This year it will be held on October 1, 2016 at the beautiful Bradshaw Animal Shelter of Sacramento County.

For the 2015 event 425 guests enjoyed the catered dinner, wine tasking, Silent Auction, Live Auction, Raffle, and Lucky Dog Raffle. All proceeds go to help Bradshaw Shelter animals.

We are seeking volunteers to work with the Event Coordinator to plan and organize the event. Specifics of THIS opportunity are as follows:

Auction - Silent & Raffle (1 Chair or 2 Co-chairs)

  • Contact potential donors via mail, phone or email for donations. Have a goal of $100 minimum value for items. Keep in mind that you can accept items of lesser value and pair them for silent auction items and/or raffles. Only accept new items. Goal is approx.. 50 total items for silent auction and five to six raffle baskets.

  • If using a donor information sheet, make sure it is filled out, scanned and placed in file sharing location for each donation. It is imperative that we have all information, including address and emails for thank yous.

  • Enter all donor and item information into Greater Giving. When complete, convert items to packages.

  • Non-tangible items must have certificates.

  • Provide a list of all donors for the program.

  • Arrange for photo of item to add to event website. Place image in file sharing location.

  • Arrange actual delivery and storage of items.

  • Set up auction tables in a logical fashion. Make sure each item has a frame with title and description and is labeled.

  • Have two sets of bid sheets, with one going to reg/check-out after the auction closes. Keep original bid sheets until everything is reconciled after the event.

  • Manage all of the volunteers for the auction (min 4) and raffle (min 6) the day of the event.

  • Coordinate raffle baskets of various themes. Handle picking the winning ticket and coordinate with Live Auction to announce winner at the beginning of the live auction.

  • Need 10 volunteers to support chair the day of the event.

  • Need 10 to 15 volunteers prior to the day of the event to make follow up calls for donations of items.

  • Time commitment is 2-4 hours per week.
