As the school year winds down and the summer approaches, volunteers and food in our food bank are beginning to run low. Volunteers are crucial to providing our services to our clients whose needs continue throughout the year. Now, we are looking for new volunteers to come help.
Every Saturday, North Helpline will be holding food drives at local grocery stores all throughout the north Seattle area in the month of June. Volunteers are needed to hand out fliers and collect any food that shoppers would like to donate. We will be holding food drives at the following locations on these dates.
Saturday, June 6: Northgate QFC and Wedgwood QFC 12 pm to 3 pm
Saturday, June 13: Roosevelt QFC 12 pm to 3 pm
Saturday, June 20th: Lake City Fred Meyer 11 am to 2 pm
Friday, June 26: Aurora Ave Sam's Club 12 pm to 3 pm
Food drives are a vital component to ensuring we have enough food to serve those who need it. It is also a great way for friends, groups and families to serve their community while interacting with their neighbors. If you think you can spare a few hours to volunteer, please contact us for more information.

Description
North Helpline is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1989 by concerned citizens, business leaders, service organizations, and local church members who saw their neighbors experiencing difficult times. Recognized by such organizations as the United Way, the Seattle Foundation, the City of Seattle, and the Greater Seattle Council of Churches. North Helpline provides a variety of emergency services to local residents; including a food bank, financial aid to prevent evictions and utility shut-offs, hygiene supplies, diapers and baby food; and referrals to other agencies that help residents get back on their feet.
We distribute food to our neighbors in North Seattle three times a week, keeping over 1,200 individuals fed. Our work would not be possible without the thousands of volunteer hours served here every year.
