Relationships with the community are vital for promoting the mission of Imagination Station. One of the main functions of the Imagination Station Community Outreach Volunteer is to bring fun, interactive science experiments out of the science center and into the community in order to impact more children and families. Community Outreach Volunteers provide support to the Marketing department at events throughout the community.
Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable about Imagination Station
- Go out to community events, greet attendees and educate about Imagination Station’s mission
- Accurately demonstrate fun science activities and experiments for individuals out at events
- Promote the sale of Imagination Station merchandise
- Distribute materials, such as rack cards and flyers, during community events
Requirements:
- Participate in at least one community event per month
- Must be outgoing and willing to speak with strangers
- Must have own transportation and willing to drive to event sites
- Minimum of 6 month commitment
- The ability to pass a background check, drug test and credit check

Description
Imagination Station employs their mission to impact:
- Families - offering families an opportunity to learn together as a unit; exploring the science center, asking questions and sharing in the educational process, all while spending quality time together.
- Schools - serving as an extension of the classroom, offering teachers valuable, academically aligned exhibit guides to enhance their students’ visit. Additionally, Imagination Station offers a wealth of inquiry-based activities on their website for use in the classroom or at home.
- Community - participating as a responsible steward of the northwest Ohio community. The science center actively participates in community growth opportunities and educational partnerships.
