We serve 6th - 12th grade youth in all of Palm Beach County who are caregivers for a sick or disabled parent, guardian, sibling or relative. They need extra support in school and in life in general. This would be very rewarding as you would help a child who has these additional responsiblities that other children do not. We are open to any day and time that works for you and the child. We are especially looking to recruit mentors who can be matched with mentees in Greenacres, Lantana, Lake Worth and West Palm Beach. Lets talk and get to know each other!

Mission Statement
Established in 2005, the AACY is the first and only organization in the United States that reaches out to the young caregivers of ill, elderly or disabled family members. Our organization assists childfren who are caregivers of a relative, to restore their role as children and help them succeed academically, psychologically, developmentally and socially. We build bridges between the systems of healthcare, education, and community to help these children in school, out of school, and at home so they can have the skills and support they need, as well as a space to socialize with peers and succeed in life,
Description
We provide caregivers with skills-building and stress management groups. Also a camp experience, fishing trip, cooking tips and tutoring.
We help with college planning, workshops to help develop personal goals and assistance with scholarships.
