Take a step back in time and join Pitch in for Parks, Pierce County Parks & Recreation's drop-in volunteer program, at the Old Settler's Cemetery. With graves dating back to 1795, this lesser known historic site contains some of Lakewood's earliest settlers and Civil War-era veterans. Help us spruce up the site by removing invasive ivy infestations and cleaning up around the gravestones. We supply the tools, water and a snack - you supply the energy and enthusiasm to make a big difference! We invite you to come rain or shine with appropriate clothing for the weather conditions and working outside. Bring work gloves if you have them available. This is a great opportunity for all ages (15 and under with a guardian) and abilities.
