Mission Statement
Miles for Migraine was founded in 2008 by Eileen Jones, a public health nurse and migraine sufferer, with the goal of improving the lives of those with migraine through education and awareness, and eventually to find a cure.
Description
Migraine is the most common neurologic disorder with over 35 Million american men women and children having migraines. The incidence of migraine in teenage girls has been estimated as high as 23%. For some, migraine can be daily and very disabling. The World Health Organization ranks migraine as the 9th leading cause of disability among women.
We hold an annual race both in San Francisco and Mountain View and in 2013 we held our first race in Philadelphia. In 2014 in partnership with the UCSF Headache Center, we initiated our teen camp program.
