The SFIOFF is seeking a volunteer to oversee the communication and coordination efforts of the 6th Annual Student Film Competition (SFC). The SFC Coordinator will be responsible for logging stiudent film submissions, ensuring all submission criteria are met, emailing with students as needed to answer questions, and request information or to clarify any aspects of their submissions. In addition the Coordinator is involved with the jury selection committee who reviews all submissions.
The duration of the volunteer opportunity lasts from July 1, 2016 through the screening of the SFC scheduled for March 2017. An estimated 5-10 hours per week is the time commitment for completing the role, and can be done remotely as the majority of the work will be done on email and GoogleDocs.
This is a fun, engaging volunteer opportunity for someone who has experience working with middle school and high school students, and who supports our mission of inspiring people to care about the ocean through independent films. We invite you to join us in engaging the next generation of ocean lovers and conservationists to tell their story about the ocean while developing their skills and interests in the art of filmmaking.
