About

Sustaining a farm is hard work, and Williams Farm would not be the same without all the time and support volunteers like you provide! Come volunteer on the second Saturday of every month to help keep Williams Farm operating at its full potential. Get outside, get your hands dirty, and help contribute to an invaluable community resource! All are welcome, and no previous gardening or farming experience is required.

This Saturday we will be focusing on preparing Williams farm for our Root for Community Camp, our annual summer camp that aims to to empower youth in the community through education about health food, gardening, and conservation.

Located just two miles from downtown Athens, the Williams Farm is an oasis in the city. ALT staff, community members, and volunteers work together to grow produce, flowers, and herbs for our weekly farmers markets, CSA program, donations to local food banks and soup kitchens. Williams Farm hopes to grow and market heathy affordable food to residents and businesses in the community, serve as a model of sustainable farming, and provide employment and skill-building opportunities for youth in the community.
