We have it all, every personality type, diverse backgrounds and previous professional careers and experiences all uniting with a shared goal of helping others who are less fortunate.

We have volunteer teams that work in the mornings from 8 until 11:45, or in the afternoons from 12 Noon until 3:45. Some enjoy volunteering for a full day once a week, others travel quite a bit, so they volunteer when it works for them, it's totally up to you and your own personal schedule.

Description

The North County Community Food Bank is involved with distributing emergency food supplies to low income families. We assist clients shop the pantry two times per week, perform stocking and inventory, rotation of items in stock, cleaning, donation pickups from area businesses and private citizens throughout the area.

Fundraising activities are coordinated throughout the year to help fund the organization's major expense purchasing food supplies. Grants, estate gifts and donations are regularly being sought. The NCCFoodBank is focused on finding a larger building or property on which a new facility can be established. This facility would provide onsite space to hold the educational programming currently offered as well as additional classes being offered evenings and weekends. Basic life skills topics addressed for our clients includes: financial planning and management, budgeting, resume writing, job skills, interviewing and many other life skills topics. In addition, the organization partners with the others to offer courses in which our clients can learn how to cook healthier meals, stretch their grocery dollars, plan their weekly menus, grow their own fresh produce, and much more.
