Make a real difference in someone's life!
Great Lakes Caring Hospice, a leading care provider in the Midwest, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.
Great Lakes Caring Hospice is looking for Companion Volunteers who will visit patients in local nursing facilities or in private homes close to where they live.
The Companion Volunteer will provide companionship, play cards/games, watch TV, take the patient out into the garden area for fresh air, read to patient, etc. There is no physical care involved.
Hours are very flexible, weekdays, evenings or weekends. Typically, we ask that you visit your assigned patient as often as you want, but at least 1-2 hours per week. We also ask for any volunteer to make a 6 month commitment to our organization.
We also have additional administrative opportunities available in our home office. Contact Doug for additional information!
Any interest applicant must first submit to a phone interview which includes questions, followed by training in person and new hire orientation paperwork that includes a TB-test and fingerprinting.
