Reach to Recovery Volunteers Needed - Peer support for breast cancer patients

Cause Areas

It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.

The Reach to Recovery program matches trained, volunteer breast cancer survivors with those facing a breast cancer diagnosis to provide free one-on-one support through face-to-face or telephone calls. Volunteers are carefully selected and are fully adjusted to life after cancer. They talk with both men and women patients, giving them and their families an opportunity to express feelings, talk about fears and concerns, and ask questions. Volunteers offer understanding and support in a way that only another person touched by breast cancer can. This is a free of charge program. Volunteers will have been out of treatment for atleast one year, complete initial training and participate in continuing education. Volunteers will be matched with a patient of a similiar experience.
