About Sunshine Foundation Dream Village
Location:
5400 CR 547 N, 5400 Lee Jackson Hwy, Davenport, FL 33837, US
Mission Statement
The Sunshine Foundation answers the dreams of chronically ill, seriously ill, physically challenged and abused children between the ages of 3 and 18.
Description
The Sunshine Foundation, the original wish granting organization, has been answering the dreams of special children to give them hope and to escape from their everyday lives. Most of the children we serve wish to visit the Central Florida theme parks when asked the simple question: "If you could have one dream, what would it be?"
We fly the child and their immediate family to Orlando, all expenses paid, to enjoy a family vacation away from hospitals, needles and medical treatments. They enjoy Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and/or Universal Studios during each day, then return to the Sunshine Foundation Dream Village at night to relax in their peaceful but magical cottage.
Opened in 1990, the Dream Village is a 22-acre resort nestled in a fairy tale setting and offers amenities and activities, all specially designed to be accessible for wheelchairs and other special needs. Each cottage has a unique and magical theme designed especially for children. We ask you to join us as we celebrate 20 years and almost 20,000 children visiting the Dream Village!
