North Helpline Emergency Services and Food Bank is in great need of new volunteers to help with our weekly food distributions. Food bank volunteers help distribute food to our clients, restock our distribution lines and sort food donations. We have four food bank shifts available every Wednesday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, Thursdays 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm, Fridays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Saturdays from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. We are also looking for volunteers to help with food drives that we will be coordinating with local grocery stores on Saturdays as well.
Food distributions are a fun activity for families, students looking to get community service hours for school, or anyone looking to donate a few hours of their time to a worthy cause. Your efforts will go toward helping the most vulnerable members of our community have enough food for themselves and their families. Volunteers are crucial to our ability to provide our services. Anyone who would like to help is highly encouraged to contact us!

Description
North Helpline is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1989 by concerned citizens, business leaders, service organizations, and local church members who saw their neighbors experiencing difficult times. Recognized by such organizations as the United Way, the Seattle Foundation, the City of Seattle, and the Greater Seattle Council of Churches. North Helpline provides a variety of emergency services to local residents; including a food bank, financial aid to prevent evictions and utility shut-offs, hygiene supplies, diapers and baby food; and referrals to other agencies that help residents get back on their feet.
We distribute food to our neighbors in North Seattle three times a week, keeping over 1,200 individuals fed. Our work would not be possible without the thousands of volunteer hours served here every year.
