About

Whiskers & Wine is TEAM's premier fundraising event. This year it will be held on October 1, 2016 at the beautiful Bradshaw Animal Shelter of Sacramento County.

For the 2015 event 425 guests enjoyed the catered dinner, wine tasting, Silent Auction, Live Auction, Raffle, and Lucky Dog Raffle. All proceeds go to help Bradshaw Shelter animals

We are seeking volunteers to work with the Event Coordinator to plan and organize the event. Specifics of THIS opportunity are as follows:

Auction - Live (1 Chair or 2 Co-chairs)

  • Contact potential donors via mail, phone or email. Goal is approx. 25 items for auction.

  • Provide link to sponsor page for donors so we collect all information for follow ups and thank yous.

  • Enter all donor (if necessary) and item information into Greater Giving. When complete, convert items to packages.

  • Non-tangible items must have certificates.

  • Provide description of each item for program and detailed description for auctioneer.

  • Arrange for photo of item to add to event website. Place image in file sharing location.

  • Arrange actual delivery of items and set up tangible items to display for auction.

  • Produce a PowerPoint presentation of auction items for live auctioneer (in his order of preference).

  • Ensure sufficient number of runners (min 2) and spotters (min 4) and person(s) to record bid amounts (min 4). Make sure you have two "Vanna Whites" to help with the auction.

  • Obtain 5-10 restaurant gift cards for the start of the live auction, ranging from $25-200 in value.

  • Supervise the Live Auction the night of the event.

  • Make sure everything is in its proper envelope and labeled clearly for the registration/check out table.

  • Work with auctioneer prior to the event to understand what items he has available for auction, what the hard costs are, and how fulfillment is handled.

  • Make sure all of auctioneer’s paperwork is filled out properly the evening of the event.

  • Need 12 volunteers to support chair the day of the event.

  • Time commitment 1-2 hours per week.
