In 25th April of 2015, earthquake of 7.8 magnitude shook central Nepal, killing 8,600 people. About 18,000 were injured and 2,00,000 houses were totally destroyed in the tremor of about a month.
Phulkharka is one of the village near the epicenter that was severely damaged by the temblor. 27 people lost their lives and 95% houses destroyed. The village development committee has 7 primary schools and one high school among 7,500 people. All of the school buildings need to be rebuild. children are studying under the makeshift shed temporarily.
iTourNepal P Ltd is working with local youth group 'Ganga Jamuna Youth Club' to mobilize volunteers and fundraiser to build permanent, earthquake resistant building. We have limited fund but with mobilizing volunteers, we can do maximum work.
We also need volunteers to engage with kids at primary schools. Volunteer teachers without skills are trained in Kathmandu for few days.
We also need volunteers to help with farming. Local farmers can't change from traditional farming as it is subsistant. We also needs agricultural experts for suggestion on alternate. There are abandoned fields which could be used for cash crops farming.
