Thrift Shop Floor Person

Tasks and Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist customers on the sales floor and at the display counters
  • Be familiar with the shop prices and product
  • Empty out the change rooms
  • Straighten merchandise on racks and shelving, dusting when/where needed
  • Stock shelves and racks in shop with priced items
  • Back up for cashier to help with bagging purchases
  • Be familiar with and support shop policy including provincial customer service guidelines
  • Explain the shop operations and how MCC uses the money raised
  • Providing friendly service and a positive experience in the shop for all customers, donors and other volunteers

Skills/ Knowledge/ Attitude Requirements:

  • Friendly and engaging personal style, strong interpersonal skills with people of all ages and backgrounds required
  • Healthy balance of patience and energy required
  • Ability to lift and move items an asset

Training and Development offered:

  • Position specific orientation will be provided
  • Job shadowing and training meetings offered as available
  • Other training and skills development
  • Policy and procedure manual available at all times
