Do you think food should be fun? Do you believe education is empowerment? Do you want to help change kids’ eating habits in a way that could affect them for a lifetime?

If so, you should think about joining our team at Food Literacy Center!

Our mission is to inspire kids to eat their vegetables. We teach low-income elementary children cooking and nutrition to improve our health, community, and environment. We teach food literacy in after-school programs and libraries throughout the Sacramento area. We also participate in various community events throughout the year. There is something for everyone and activites with and without children!

Food Literacy Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) established in 2011 in Sacramento, California, with the mission of inspiring kids to eat their vegetables. The organization provides cooking and nutrition education to children in low-income elementary schools throughout the Sacramento City Unified School District to improve health, economy and the environment.
