Are you cheerful and outgoing? Would you enjoy making small talk with patients and their families? Could you comfortably roll a book cart from room to room? Do you enjoy reading and talking about books? Library volunteers offer comfort and diversion to patients by delivering reading materials during patients' Hospital stays.

NYM library volunteers brighten patients' days by offering print reading materials and activities that entertain, inform and distract. Whether with a travel magazine or a classic novel, you can help provide diversion with a good book and a friendly conversation. You'll bring novels, crossword amd sudoku puzzlesand magazines for patients to enjoy and keep. You'll make recommendations on reading material and respond to requests from specific patients. You'll assist in organizing reading material in the patient library to ensure efficient and comfortable access.

We would love to hear from you if you are: Cheerful, outgoing, energetic, organized and appreciative of the printed word

Minimum commitment: One two-hour shift a week for a minimum of six months.

Available Times: Seven days a week, between 10am and 8pm
