New Construction Build Volunteers Needed (some skills helpful) - Oxnard, CA

Gain experience with all aspects of construction and green building protocols. Some skills are helpful, but previous experience is not necessary, just willing hands and hearts!

Habitat Ventura County will soon (fall, 2017) begin construction on a 6-home development in Oxnard. We typically build Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays, from 8:00 am to 2-3:00 pm, and Saturdays from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:00 am during the week, and at 8:30 am on Saturdays, for check-in and orientation. We break for lunch 11:30 - 12:00, and then resume work until 2:00 pm.

As soon as the start date is firm, shifts will be posted on the online Volunteer Calendar, and volunteers can sign up for open shifts.

Volunteers on the construction site must be 18 years old or older. All volunteers are required to sign a Liability Waiver Form (found on our website: habitatventura.org), and bring the form with them to the job site.

Bring a refillable water bottle, hat & sunscreen, dress weather appropriate with closed toe shoes. Bring your own lunch or grab something from a local eatery. Habitat provides all of the tools but you are welcome to bring your own tool belt if you want.
