The Annie R. Mitchell History Room provides research level resources and services relating to Tulare County and the San Joaquin Valley, especially relating to local history and culture, Sequoia National Park, and Allensworth. A wide variety of materials, including books, periodicals, maps, indexes, pamphlets, newspaper clippings, photographs, postcards, and scrapbooks can be found in the collection. Guidance is provided by History Room volunteers and staff.
We are looking for responsible volunteers to assist with organizing and preserving the Annie R. Mitchell History Room collections and to assist customers as needed with reference questions. Duties may include retrieving historical documents/photos, organizing new materials or assisting customers in the use of the room.
