Experienced with social media and want to expand your skills? The Center for Worldview Music is looking for a savvy and reliable volunteer to assist with our social media outreach. Initial involvement would be with Facebook postings but opportunity to expand to other platforms as well. Social Media Associate would be creating posts about upcoming concert series and general posts concerning the Center for World Music and world music topics. Join an energetic team that loves music and dance. Although the opportunity is virtual, we have a preference for someone who lives in San Diego. We have excellent cloud-based tools for content creation.
We ask a commitment of at least 6 months of volunteer assistance. Anticipated hours: 4 or more hrs per week. If interested, ask about an internship (15 hours/week min)
Based in San Diego, California, the Center for World Music is a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to foster intercultural awareness and understanding through in-depth encounters with the world’s performing arts traditions. We accomplish our mission through the production of world music and dance concerts, a robust world music program for schools, and other world music-related events and programs.

Description
The Center for World Music has three basic programs: a concert series, a school program, and study abroad programs. The concert series offers around a dozen concerts a year presenting local and international performers. The school program reaches thousands of San Diego students with hands-on, in-depth instruction in the world's diverse performing arts traditions by native and native-trained master artist-teachers. The organization's study abroad programs offers participants the opportunity to travel to various countries around the world to study music and culture.
