Center for Japanese Mental Health

We need an experienced grant writer who can help us apply for government and foundation grants, to help us build a library of material we can reuse for subsequent proposals. While we appreciate all who wish to contribute their writing skills, we need volunteers who have prior experience researching and writing successful grant proposals as we don't have the knowledge or skills in-house to train volunteers.

We seek funding related to the provision of mental health services, education and outreach to people of Japanese descent, locally in Southern California, across the USA or overseas. This includes development of mental health programs and services for individuals and families or professional training and development for other service providers. Programs include initiatives related to suicide prevention, ending mental health stigma, senior outreach and wellness checks, mental health and suicide prevention hotline, and more. The hotline is of particular interest and import as the national 988 suicide hotline was recently approved and funded.
