ORGANIZATION: Friends of Sausal Creek

Join the Friends of Sausal Creek Trail Stewardship Crew to restore trails in the Sausal Creek Watershed. We meet on the last Sunday of the month to restore trails in Dimond Canyon Park and Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland. Come join the fun! No commitment required - come lend a hand when you can.

This month we will be installing erosion control fabric along the Bridgeview Trail switchbacks. Please meet at the Bridgeview Trailhead in Dimond Canyon Park: http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/bridgeview_route.pdf

If you haven't volunteered with FOSC in the past year, please sign and bring both the FOSC and City of Oakland volunteer waiver forms (http://www.documents.sausalcreek.org/FOSC_City_Waiver.pdf). Please wear sturdy shoes, long pants, layers, and bring a water bottle. All tools, instruction, and snacks will be provided. Youth under 15 should be accompanied by an adult. RSVP to Michelle at field@sausalcreek.org.

All volunteers must sign and bring a FOSC and City of Oakland volunteer waiver form to the event. Anyone under 18 will also need a parental signature. Waiver forms are good for up to one year.

Friends of Sausal Creek is a volunteer-based, nonprofit, community organization dedicated to promoting awareness, appreciation, and stewardship of Oakland’s Sausal Creek Watershed, which drains to the San Francisco Bay. Formed in 1996, the Friends recognize that citizen participation-from residents to decision-makers, teachers, and students-is critical for building a long-term commitment to protecting Sausal Creek as a natural resource for the greater Oakland community.
