Precious Paws is looking for volunteers to help us give our area's abandoned, abused, lost, or surrendered animals a safe haven until they find their forever home or are returned to their owners. Volunteers will help clean dog kennels and give them fresh food and water every day. They can also become dog walkers. Volunteers also clean cat cages which involves clean litter boxes and fresh food and water every day. Volunteers help socialize all animals. They help with laundry, dishes, mopping floors. They can help with fund raising and adoption events. They can help with website and FaceBook duties. We can also use someone with experience in bookkeeping and grant writing.

Mission Statement
Precious Paws is a no-kill shelter that is 100% volunteer run whose mission is to prevent and alleviate animal suffering through shelter, adoption, education, and community outreach; to support the enforcement of animal welfare laws and state statutes, and to strengthen the human/animal bond.
Description
Precious Paws Humane Society of Chisholm was originally started back in 1993 as the Hibbing Animal Shelter and later became the Hibbing Animal Shelter d/b/a Precious Paws when we moved from Hibbing, Minnesota to Chisholm, Minnesota. Our contract area covers the communities of Chisholm, Keewatin, and Nashwauk, Minnesota. We serve hundreds of abandoned, abused, lost, and surrendered animals a year. If needed, these animals receive all medical procedures necessary to get them to an adoptable state, including spay/neuter and all vaccinations. We submit articles to our area’s newspapers educating, advocating, and promoting the benefits of spaying and neutering your pets and the importance of getting them up to date on their vaccinations. We participate in area events so as to get the word out about responsible pet ownership. We participate in annual adoption events every year.
