There aren't many food banks open on Saturday. Until now. This local foodbank has decided to open on Saturday, from 9:00am to 12:30, for clients who work during the week but can't make it in. Many of our neighbors fall into a category like this. They have jobs but don't make enough money to adequately cover food expenses at the grocery store. They rely on a foodbank for help. And the food bank relies on volunteers like you so they can be open. Skills required are a warm and welcoming manner, able to work with a broad range of people and have compassion for those less fortunate.
There are several jobs to choose from-
Client/Cart Assistant- Assist clients to their vehicle with the carts. Assist in unloading the cart, Requires good communication skills, ability to stand and walk for 3 hours and lift 25lbs.
Client Shopper- help clients select proper items and get them into the cart. Must work well under pressure, have good time management skills, communication skills, walk and stand for 3 hours and lift 25 lbs.
