Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. There aren't many food banks open on Saturday. Until now. This local foodbank has decided to open on Saturday, from 9:00am to 12:30, for clients who work during the week but can't make it in. Many of our neighbors fall into a category like this. They have jobs but don't make enough money to adequately cover food expenses at the grocery store. They rely on a foodbank for help. And the food bank relies on volunteers like you so they can be open. Skills required are a warm and welcoming manner, able to work with a broad range of people and have compassion for those less fortunate.
