Potential Volunteers will be trained to become Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) for foster care children in Howard County Maryland. Thirty hours of pre-service training is required. Training will run Monday evenings for 7 weeks. Volunteers will complete training by attending a juvenile court hearing.

As a member of the National Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program, our mission is to ensure that abused and neglected children are placed in safe, permanent homes.

Description

Voices for Children trains and supervises volunteers as court advocates for abused, neglected and at risk youth in Howard County Maryland. Volunteers provide background information and recommendations to the court on behalf of a child. They also provide needed emotional support for these children.
