The Second Harvest Food Bank Mobile Pantry Program - Our food pantry on wheels!
The mobile pantry serves all three counties, providing a much needed service to rural areas and food deserts.
It takes between 8 to 12 volunteers to run the mobile pantry efficiently. Volunteers help to register clients and distribute food. Clients arrive on a first-come, first-served basis. Distribution takes between 45 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the turnout. After distribution, extra product, cardboard, and trash are loaded back onto the truck and returned to Second Harvest, leaving the space as clean, if not cleaner, as when we arrived.
