Summer Programs Volunteer 2019
Position Overview and Impact: Assist individuals with disabilities participate in summer sports such as adaptive waterskiing and adaptive flat water paddling. Volunteers will work on a personal level to help participants successfully learn to water-ski or paddle.
Key Responsibilities:
Adaptive Flat Water Paddling Program
- Instruct, guide, and assist participants with proper boat selection, fitting, and adapting for individualized independence and success.
- Help participants choose from a variety of paddle crafts, offer individualized instruction, and assist with group tours.
Often, a volunteer's most helpful role is in being available to help students focus and make their day on the water a safe, fun learning experience.
Qualifications: It is not necessary for you to have experience teaching people with disabilities how to water-ski or paddle, however applicants should possess strong swimming skills.
Training and Support Provided: Achieve Tahoe offers all the training necessary to become a summer programs volunteer.
Commitment: The minimum commitment we ask of our volunteers for the summer season for our paddling program is 5 days. The summer sports programs runs June- August with programs offered most Fridays through Sundays. A typical day of volunteering will run 8:30am - 4:00pm.

Achieve Tahoe is seeking passionate individuals to assist individuals with disabilities participating in adaptive water skiing at Wake Island in North Sacramento. Volunteers will work directly with participants, helping them to find success in water skiing.
