The primary purpose of the SFMOMA school museum guides is to inspire student visitors to the museum through interactive, participatory experiences, while guides who lead the museum's Art Express outreach program bring the ideas of modern and contemporary art to Bay Area classrooms. Museum guides initiate dialogues, foster discoveries, share insights, and open the eyes and minds of students from around the Bay Area. They are also active participants in the stimulating learning environment of SFMOMA, with unique access to the art and knowledge that the museum continually aggregates, not to mention the thought-provoking comments and questions of our visitors!
