Title: Web & Social Media Intern
Part Time : 20-30 hours/week
Time commitment : Fall/Winter Semesters
Starting Salary : unpaid, will offer college credit upon request
Location : Josephine Butler Parks Center, 2437 15th Street, NW (primary)
Occasional duties at the Riverside Center, 601 Division Avenue, NE
Main Responsibilities (Under the guidance of the Communications Coordinator):
Help manage, schedule and promote our social media accou nts.
Prepare and queue blog posts in coordination with our writers.
Administer comments, and proactively monitor and respond to online conversations around Parks & People and our mission.
Live social media coverage of various events/programs (some evening events required).
Required and Desired skills:
Experience using social media (particularly Facebook and Twitter).
Background and interest in digital communication.
Ability to work in a collaborative way with a small staff.
Must be able to multi-task, problem solve, thrive in a dynamic work environment, and enjoy working with a variety of people
Resourceful, flexible, and a self starter.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Passionate about the mission of Parks & People.
