Volunteering at the Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival offers many new experiences and great networking opportunities. Have a chance to make new friends, learn a new skill, and have some fun! Become a part of our team and directly contribute to the success of this free, three day festival that promotes diversity and culture in the Mid-Ohio Valley.
Volunteers are the key to this great event! Even the Board of Directors is made up entirely of volunteers! Come join us at the festival by assisting attendees, exhibitors, and entertainers. You will walk away with a rewarding experience you will never forget.
Festival dates are June 15th-17th . Shifts are generally in 2 hour increments, but you may sign up for more than one shift.
Setup (June 14th & 15th)
Please note that setup often involves heavy lifting! Setup volunteers will assist staff with preparing for the event on the Friday prior to the start time of the Festival. Tasks include creating and placing signage (includes the use of tools), setting up registration areas, assisting in setting up vendor stations, placement of tables and chairs, etc.
Volunteers working in the information booth will assist with greeting and educating visitors about the organization’s mission, informing them of important locations and providing guests with schedules. Volunteers will be responsible for selling merchandise (t-shirts, tote bags, etc.), and providing security for the money collected.
Vendors and artists have to eat too! Booth Sitters relieve artists and vendors who need to take a quick break. As a booth sitter, you’ll stand watch at booths while they run quick errands. Booth sitters do not make sales.
Volunteers will help facilitate the kid’s programming and activities as needed and should enjoy working with children. Come prepared to have fun!
International Boulevard Project
We are looking for volunteers that are willing to represent a nationality. Presenters should be able to provide interactive presentations and displays about the nationality/culture they are representing. A 10x10 ft. booth is provided including tents, tables, chairs, and lighting.
Cleanup (June 17th)
Volunteers are needed to take down signs, take down tents, clean up any garbage left behind, etc.
