A Board of Directors of any group has four primary responsibilities:

1.Organizational Governance

2.Assurance of Executive Performance

3.Board Governance

4.Linkage with the Membership

A board member of GIGMVM is expected to attend all Board meetings. Normally, there are four Board meetings annually:

The Board has ultimate responsibility for the association, but it is important that all Board members recognize that management is the responsibility of the staff of the association. The Board's primary roles are to define policy and to set direction for the association.


ORGANIZATIONAL GOVERNANCE

The Board must create, and modify when appropriate, the written governing policies of the association. These policies include the definition of goals, the definition of executive limitations and responsibilities, financial planning, asset protection, an appropriate code of conduct, Board operations and performance.

Description

. We seek an experienced consultant to serve in the role of Project Manager. This person will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects spanning across all divisions, and varying in size and complexity.

The Project Manager will be intricately involved in creating project specifications and requirements, identifying obstacles, implementing solutions, and ensuring that projects are implemented on schedule and within budget. Projects will often involve the entire agency, and a successful candidate will be a generalist who has solid experience and understanding of financial/accounting principles, legal/regulatory frameworks, operational implementation, and IT systems. The position requires a dynamic "can do" personality and a proven track record of successfully managing multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
