Hospice Volunteers are an essential part of the hospice philosophy of care which recognizes that dying is not just a medical event, but a personal one as well. Volunteers are the very heart of hospice care and the time spent with patients is truly invaluable.
A comprehensive orientation is provided before you get started, including hospice care, medicare basics. emotional support of patients and caring for the dementia patient. On going training is offered throughout the year. Volunteer support groups meet quarterly.
Compassionate Care Volunteers provide companionship and respite care to patients in their neighborhood. Assignments are made with volunteer geography and availabilty in mind.
Old Colony Hopsice provides care to patients in 47 towns surrounding the West Bridgewater, MA area.
