VITAS Healthcare of Nassau County
VITAS invites friendly and well behaved pets to join our Paw Pals team!
A registered VITAS Paw Pal volunteer (and their human) can offer comfort, companionship, encourage activity, bring back memories and provide unconditional love to VITAS hospice patients in their homes or care facilities.
Pet visits can often reach a patient when no one else can. All kinds of pets are invited to join our team!
Paw Pals must be well groomed, at least one year old and have up to date vaccinations and health records. Human volunteers will need to be at least 18 years old and attend orientation as well as complete and application packet.
