Easter Seals Florida is looking for dedicated, energetic individuals to help with our seniors. Day Break, our adult day health care program provides a safe and stimulating environment for adults with disabilities of special needs ages 18 years and up. We specialize in serving individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's disease, those who may be in rehabilitation or recovering from a stroke, or other special needs.

Volunteer responsibilities include:
-Socializing with our members - a new face to talk to is key when working with Alzheimer’s patients
-Redirecting members and encouraging participation in programs
-Assisting with programs/activities (arts & crafts, bingo, trivia, karaoke, current events, etc.)
-Helping Activity Director prepare for programs; cleaning and organizing after programs
-Brainstorming new and exciting ideas for programs
-Helping prepare and pass out lunch/afternoon refreshment
-Setting up kitchen and tables for lunch/afternoon refreshment; clean up

Flexible Shift Times Available:
Monday - Friday
Between 8:30 am - 11:30 am and 1:00pm - 4:00 pm

Skills Required:
-Strong communication skills
-Good organizational skills
-Prior experience in facilitating programs/activities, or a willingness to learn
-Patience and the ability to work well with adults with disabilities
-Acceptance of people of all races, creeds, nationalities and disabilities
-Punctuality and reliability
