Summary of Position
The information technology (IT) associate will serves by providing support with general IT duties for the Pikes Peak Workforce Center (PPWFC). The objective of this role is to help develop the capacity of the PPWFC to serve more job seekers in El Paso and Teller Counties, ultimately having a greater positive economic impact within the Pikes Peak Region.
Essential Duties
- Provide assistance with response to service and technical assistance requests
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
- Escalates problems to appropriate personnel
- Provide assistance with video production (i.e. recording, editing, etc.)
- Set up and distribute new/replacement electronics to staff (i.e. phones, laptops, iPads)
- Support technology use at various large events
- Help manage all IT equipment, to include keeping inventory and records of staff use
- Assist with updating software, deployment of images, etc.
- Work closely with PPWFC staff
- Complete required tracking of volunteer hours, tasks completed, etc., as appropriate for position
- Participate in volunteer evaluations to help improve mutual satisfaction and the volunteer program itself
- Attend meetings, trainings and events as requested and when possible
- Understand and adhere to all programmatic and agency policies
- Performs miscellaneous support duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Currently enrolled or a graduate from a post-secondary training program in the IT field
- Professional experience not necessary but is a plus
- The ability and willingness to learn and adhere to government IT processes
- Ability to trouble shoot a variety of IT issues on a multitude of devices
- Possess working knowledge of PC software, hardware and other computing equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Highly proficient with standard office equipment such as computer, multi-line telephone, fax machine, copier, scanner, etc.
- A high degree of professionalism and a friendly, positive attitude
Term of Service
The volunteer must commit to a minimum of 6 months of service, at least 9 hours per month in shifts of no less than 3 hours. Shifts are flexible, but must be within the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Training/Support Provided
- Orientation to PPWFC and volunteer program will be provided and is mandatory before starting volunteer service.
- Position-specific training/support will be provided by PPWFC and is mandatory before starting volunteer service.
- Ongoing support from Operations Manager and department staff
Department Customer Service
Reports to Operations Manager and Business Analyst or Designee
Work Conditions Work is performed in an office environment. May require occasional travel to event locations or satellite offices.
Selection, Training and Development Process
1. Complete a PPWFC Volunteer Inquiry online at www.ppwfc.org
2. Interview with the Operations Manager
3. Pass a background and reference check
4. Complete all necessary volunteer paperwork
5. Sign a written volunteer agreement to commit to a minimum of 6-months of service
6. Attend mandatory orientation (provided by PPWFC)
7. Complete mandatory position-specific training
