Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute's Adaptive Golf Program is growing in popularity and we are in need of more volunteers to join our group of instructors to offer lessons to individuals with disabilities.
This program is lesson-based, where volunteers are paired with a participant and work with their student each week to help them learn how to golf or improve their golfing technique. Volunteers are trained on how to use adaptive equipment and how to adapt lessons to different abilities. Volunteers help students set and reach goals and celebrate their successes. Staff are on-site at all times to provide support and guidance. This is a fun and educational program where students can get outside, be active, and learn the joys of golf!
Requirements: Golf experience and knowledge is required. Please commit to full 7-week season. Volunteers choose one lesson day (Mondays or Thursdays) and commit to weekly volunteering on those days for the season. Volunteers may choose to volunteer both days for the full season, if they would like.
Volunteer Training: Saturday, June 4th 9:00 - 10:30 AM
Monday Lessons: 1:00 - 4:00 PM, 6/6/22 - 7/25/22 *
Thursday Lessons: 3:00 - 4:30 PM, 6/9/22 - 7/28/22*
*No lessons on July 4 and July 7
