Our volunteers and staff assist with a variety of jobs. All of our positions are on an as needed basis- which means that if you're signing up for a job, we really need someone to do it! Each task within our festival contributes to its overall success, and we are very glad you are considering joining the 2021 Twin Cities Jazz Fest (TCJF) Volunteer Team!

Your volunteer roles may includes greeting event attendees as they arrive, answering questions in our info booth, serving beer and wine, checking IDs and wrist-banding, or ensuring a calm and relaxing space for our staff and volunteers. Your position may include relaying communication information, assisting with collecting donations for the TCJF Jazz Festival, or directing the flow of music fans. Whatever your interest in roles within the Jazz Fest team, we want you to know that you are most welcome, and valued. We are so appreciative that our volunteers agree to share with us their time and talents to make this event a reality.

Mission Statement

The Twin Cities Jazz Festival, established in 1999, is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. Utilizing the tradition and models of the United States premier civic jazz festivals, the organization has a mission to: •Establish and grow a civic summer jazz festival in the Twin Cities celebrating the past, present and future of America’s music...Jazz. •Foster significant community access, interest, and appreciation for the Twin Cities’ diverse cultural resources as evidenced through jazz and related arts. •Maximize exposure of young musicians and artists to Jazz and related art forms through performance, presentation and educational opportunities during the festival.

Description

Twin Cities Jazz Festival is a non-profit organization founded in 1999. Our mission is grounded in the collaboration between community and jazz, and we think that's something to celebrate!

Our main event, typically happens every year toward the end of June (for 2021 it will be in September): exposing our local Twin Cities community to jazz music from around the world and featuring local and international talent. However, we also have ongoing events throughout the year- exposing the larger Minnesotan community to jazz performance, promotion, collaboration, and education.

Volunteers are a huge part of what keeps our non-profit going. Their efforts are what keep our events free and open to the public, and are what allows us to continue to put them on year after year!

By becoming involved you are supporting your community, supporting jazz, and supporting arts education. Every year our festival and workshops reach over 30,000 people, and we think that’s pretty special! We would be proud for you to share your time with us, and hope you’re proud of how you can contribute as well.
