Join us at SVdP’s Free Farmers’ Market to Recover Food and Reduce Waste!

This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in food recovery, food insecurity, and food waste issues. By volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County (SVdP) you will help us further our mission of Neighbors Helping Neighbors by providing food to those in need and preventing food from being wasted!

Volunteers will be asked to:

  • Sort and organize incoming perishable food donations;
  • Arrange fruit, dairy, breads, pastries and packaged items to be distributed to clients;
  • Help with set-up / clean-up of distribution of food to clients;
  • Assist clients with selecting food, and answer questions they might have.

Time: 9:00am - 12:30pm; shifts are available Tuesday - Saturday

Commitment: We are looking for volunteers who can commit to one shift per week

Volunteers will attend an orientation and receive training on or before their first day of service.
