How would you like to honor the men and women who have served in our military by meeting with and assisting veterans and their families as part of a specialized outreach program?
The Sacramento Public Library, in partnership with California Department of Veterans Affairs, has a program, Veterans Connect @ the Library, that enables veterans and their family members to receive information and resources associated with the benefits and services for which they are eligible.
We are seeking community members who are interested in assisting veterans and their families and who enjoy meeting and talking with people. The Veterans Resource station will be offered at our Central Library - days and times to be determined.
We encourage veterans to consider this volunteer opportunity, however, being a veteran is not a requirement. The only requirement is a willingness to learn and to share what you've learned with a veteran.
