CITY OF INVER GROVE HEIGHTS

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Internship

Seasonal, summer, GIS Internship position which includes the performance of a variety of manual and technical tasks in the field or office. Intern will need to be able to work at IGH City Hall during the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm Monday - Friday.

The GIS Team is part of the IT Division and works to support all city departments.

Essential Duties:

· Developing and using ESRI field applications

· F ield data collection with GPS

· L earning how Public Works utilities work together as a system

· Editing geometry and attributes by way of reading asbuilts

· Opportunity to create maps, story maps, and AGOL applications

Typical Qualifications:

· Familiarity with ESRI suite of ArcGIS Desktop, ArcPro, AGOL

· Completion of one year of education in a GIS related technical program, GIS degree program, or related field.

· Possession of a valid and unrestricted MN driver’s license

· Good verbal and written communications skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs

· A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs

· Detail oriented, thorough, and well organized

· Ability to perform physical demands of the position.

This is an unpaid internship. 8-14 hours per week.
