STW(tm) is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water; and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.

Our volunteers are diverse professionals from all over the world bringing their knowledge and experience to STW because we care deeply about our communities and water resources. Are you someone who can efficiently get people from a search engine to web page? Are you someone who is able to increase the audience of the published message? Do you have an thorough understanding of the art of publishing that can take a professional SEO to the next level? If so, please apply! STW has an immediate need for a detailed oriented,experienced Publishing Associate: SEO Specialist who supports the publishing group by reviewing pending posts on Wordpress, applying SEO as necessary and scheduling 5 posts for publishing per day.

Associates are expected to put in a minimum of 5 hours per week and be responsive to emails within three (3) calendar days.

• Log onto Wordpress and review pending posts, checking meta descriptions, titles, focus keywords, meta keywords, tags, categories and excerpts, editing as necessary.

• Ensure that SEO is good, getting each post as close to "green" as possible.

• Schedule 5 educational articles for publishing a day; this can be done in advance.

• Offer weekly advice/workshops to publishers in order to continue improving SEO quality and streamlining the publishing process.

• Report to Project Leader for the given project team

• Attend monthly Publishing meetings

• Complete the PWR at least on weekly minimum basis

Experience/Requirements:

• 1-2 years of SEO experience as well as demonstrated ability to stay current with SEO trends and best practices.

• Successful candidates will be self-starters, highly self-motivated, and will be committed team players able to work effectively in remote teams

• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.

• Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.

• Must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department.
