Thrift Shop Volunteers are responsible for performing a variety of tasks at the NMCRS Thrift Shop location. No prior experience is necessary for Thrift Shop Volunteers, and no military knowledge required. These volunteer positions provide flexible scheduling during Thrift Shop hours and NMCRS is able to offer childcare and mileage reimbursements to all of our Volunteers.

The mission of the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is to provide, in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps, financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, eligible family members, and survivors when in need; and to receive and manage funds to administer these programs.
Founded in 1904, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private, non-profit charitable organization. We exist solely to support the active and retired communities of the Naval Services. The Society's principal activity is the disbursement of interest-free loans and grants. It also provides visiting nurse services, thrift shops, infant layettes, budget counseling services, and education scholarships and loans. Located at approximately 236 offices ashore and afloat throughout the world, the Society's work is accomplished mainly by its 3,500 dedicated, trained, and caring Volunteers who are supported by a small cadre of employees.
