As a 100% foster home based rescue, we cannot help the dogs who need us without foster families. If you’re not ready to make a long-term commitment but would still like to make a difference in an animal’s life, you may consider becoming a foster parent.
Fostering a dog is a tremendously rewarding experience and truly saves the life of a dog who would likely not be saved otherwise. There are so many pit bull type dogs waiting for our help in shelters and animal control facilities. Unfortunately for most, we will not be able to help them before their "time" runs out. We do our very best to help as many dogs as we possibly can, but again, we need foster families who can provide temporary care and love while he/she waits for their very own forever home. We do ask foster families to provide food if possible, however, vet care and other expenses are paid for by our rescue.
PittieLove Rescue Inc. covers the cost of any medical care through our vet, and can provide leashes, bedding, a crate, and more.
Fostering experience isn't required, although dog experience is ideal.
Experience with positive training and/or having a fenced yard are a huge bonus!

Mission Statement
PittieLove Rescue Inc. is an all-volunteer, foster-home-based rescue dedicated to the care, understanding, and adoption of the American Pit Bull Terrier. As one of the most abused and misunderstood "breeds" of all time, PittieLove’s number one goal is for our rescued dogs to never suffer from neglect or abuse again, carefully placing them into loving homes where they will be ambassadors for the breed.
Working closely with MA shelters, MA animal control facilities and fellow rescue organizations, we help as many dogs in need as we have foster homes for. Before the dogs come into our rescue, they undergo a thorough temperament evaluation. If they pass, they are then placed into loving foster homes where they are provided with quality veterinary care, initial training and lots of socialization (with both people and animals of all ages). Our dogs are up to date on their vaccinations (age appropriate), spayed/neutered and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
All of our volunteers are experienced Pit Bull owners and are always happy to work with adopters/potential adopters with any questions or concerns they may have. Potential adopters are educated about Pit Bull type dogs and are given comprehensive information about the specific dog they are interested in.
Just as much as we are here to rescue, we are here to educate and work to change the immediate image and stereotypes people have of these severely misunderstood dogs.
