Can you give the gift of 5 hours a month to a terminally ill patient? If you knew that the only required skill was the ablility to be a friend and a companion. If you have the time and the skillset to build friends this is a great opportunity for you.
Alacare Clanton Hospice needs you to visit a patients in their home and provide companionship a few times a month. If you live in the following areas: Chilton, Shelby, or Montgomery counties, Alacare invites you to join our great team of volunteers.
What do you do during your visit? It is simple. We can do any of patients' favorite things which can include reading, listening to their favorite music, watching their favorite television show, and just listening to them.
As a companionship volunteer, you will never be asked to provide clinical care. We only ask that you provide companionship to the patient and their family.

Enhabit - Home Health & Hospice seeks kind individuals to help ease burdens of families going through difficult times.
Enhabit is looking for patient facing volunteers to provide services to patients during their final months and weeks of life. Volunteers provide non-medical services and respite time for caregivers and family members. As a hospice volunteer, you will be given choices as to how much and what types of things you want to do.
A few ways you can help as a hospice volunteer is by running errands for patients and families, playing games or reading with patients, walking and caring for family pets, or even creating a photo album of the patient and their family.
