Land Health Institute is looking for a highly-motivated, articulate professional to assist with fundraising efforts including prospect research and grantwriting. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with prior fundraising experience and demonstrated success in writing winning grant proposals. Additionally, experience with nonprofit organizations, project management, or grant-writing is a plus. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative emerging environmental nonprofit organization and connect our work with the greater philanthropic community.
Qualifications/Abilities:
Excellent research and analytical abilities.
Able to communicate effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing.
Attention to detail.
Organized, effective time-management skills
Able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
A cooperative team approach
Dependable- available to commit to set number hours per week and participate in weekly conference calls. Able to meet in person as needed.
Able to work from home or laptop, with reliable internet and cell phone reception,
Proficiency with Microsoft software and comfort with databases, social media and emergent technologies.
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent preferred.
Knowledge/interest in Philadelphia environmental and ecological issues a plus!
Duties and Responsibilities:
Willingness and ability to take on any or all of the following tasks:
Works with LHI team to create and implement a strategic Development Plan with specific activities and measurable goals to meet the immediate and longer-term needs of LHI
Identifies and researches philanthropic prospects including individual, corporate and grants
Searches for and identifies opportunities for grants; makes initial contact; prepares proposals; works with LHI team to develop presentation materials as necessary; maintains communications with grantor, prepares and submits reports in accordance with grant criteria.
Develops and manages the LHI annual grant calendar and reports upcoming grant opportunities to Team
Manages relationships with granting agencies, tracks and submits progress of funded projects
- Works with LHI Team to oversee an up-to-date mailing list and other contact databases

LandHealth Institute is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to "Put Nature Back" through exploration, environmental education, and community-based land revitalization.
