Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
At Compassus Palliative & Hospice Care, our goal is to create a volunteer opportunity that utilizes your skills, talents and interests while supporting our patients. It is a win for all! As a hospice volunteer, you are part of a professional team that supports people with life limiting illness and diagnosed with six months or less to live. How that looks will depend on your skills/interests/professional licenses and patient needs. Compassus is a community-based hospice - traveling to skilled nursing facilities and private homes across METRO DENVER. Assignments are close to home or work. Hours are flexible, based on your availability. Average is 2-4 hours per week, including travel time. Core training is provided for new volunteers to ensure appropriate skills and to support volunteer confidence. Whether you have had a personal experience with hospice, feel a calling, want to add special skills to your resume, or want to add greater meaning to your life ...we would love to hear from you!
