The Reigning Roses Walk is a benefit for Rose Haven that will have a reception at Castaway beginning at 10am on Mother's Day (Sunday May 12th). This community event raises awareness and critical funds for our shelter, which is located in NW Portland and serves more than 3,500 women and children annually who are suffering from homelessness, abuse and other life disruptions. Last year Reigning Roses had 500 participants, and we expect even more in 2019.
We need your help! Positions include: Greeting, working the registration desk, presenting prepared food and guiding participants along the route. Snacks and mimosas will be provided!
We are seeking volunteers for the day of event for various shifts, all of which will allow you to still participate in the festivities:
SET UP/REGISTRATION: 8am-11am
BREAK DOWN: 11am-2pm
COURSE GUIDES: 10:00 am -1pm
If you are interested in one or many of these opportunities please don't hesitate to contact me with questions etc. 503.319.5958
I hope to see you there!

Mission Statement
Our Vision: A community where everyone has safety, stability, love, health and home. Our Mission: To provide day shelter, resources, emotional support and community connections to women, children and marginalized genders experiencing homelessness and poverty.
Description
Safety, Resources and Community:
Rose Haven is a day shelter and community center in Portland OR serving women, children and marginalized genders experiencing poverty, trauma and intersecting issues. Service hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00-12:00 and Tuesday - Thursday from 1:00-4:00; volunteer opportunities are generally available from 8:30-4:00.
Rose Haven is a low-barrier agency that exists not to just meet basic needs, but to nurture souls and improve the emotional, mental and physical well-being of our guests and our community as a whole. We understand our agency exists within larger systems of oppression, and we seek to disrupt those structures through radical hospitality, advocacy on an individual and community level, and meaningful connections to resources. Recognizing the isolation and loneliness that homelessness can create, we work to hold a space where all guests can connect, have voice and be empowered.
