Seeds of Literacy, a nonprofit organization that provides completely free GED preparation and basic educations to adults in the Cleveland area, has an urgent need for tutors for our east side Kinsman Road location.
Our Kinsman site is thriving with students, but we need more enthusiastic tutors to provide them with the encouragement, support, and one-to-one tutoring to help them reach their goals. As the only area GED program that remains open throughout the summer and offers new student registration every week, we always have an influx of new students working to improve their lives through improved literacy.
Please join us for a tutor training!
Saturday, June 23, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m (Seeds East)
To register for the training or to learn more about volunteering, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Sharon Farrer at sharonfarrer@seedsofliteracy.org or 216.661.7950 x115.
Our east side location is at:
13815 Kinsman Road
(corner of Kinsman & E. 139th)
Cleveland, OH 44120
in the secure Cuyahoga County Division of Senior & Adult Services building
We ask that tutors can commit to attending one class session per week for one year, but our class schedule is flexible and tutors can attend whichever session is most convenient for them in a given week. Classes at our Kinsman site are held Monday-Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.

Mission Statement
Seeds of Literacy provides personal education that empowers adults to succeed in their communities.
Description
Seeds of Literacy brings together people of diverse backgrounds in order to help break a root cause of poverty: illiteracy.
Since 1997, Seeds of Literacy has provided free, one-to-one tutoring in basic education and GED preparation to adults in Cuyahoga County. A unique curriculum designed and developed by Seeds of Literacy and one-to-one tutoring optimize learning by building relationships of trust between the student and the tutor. Since this approach allows each student to work at her or his own pace and academic level while receiving personal attention and encouragement, students of all academic levels may be able to participate in the program.
Seeds has student retention and graduation rates that are twice the national average, is the only adult literacy program in the county to be nationally accredited by ProLiteracy, and is a 501(c)3 organization.
Seeds of Literacy:
