JOIN US FOR BUILD BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION: BUSINESS EXPO!
BUILD students are presenting their ideas in person at the Business Plan Competition: Business Expo series for the first time since the pandemic!
WHAT CAN YOU DO? Listen to pitches, give students feedback, and celebrate their accomplishments.
FOR THIS EVENT, YOU WILL:
- Support and inspire our students!
- Listen to pitches from a team of 4-5 high school students, ask key questions to get them thinking on a deeper level, and cast your vote to choose a winning team
- Work alongside like-minded, community-oriented members from across the Bay Area
- Receive training and support from the BUILD community
REQUIREMENTS:
- A passion for working with high school students
- A strong value for higher education
- Entrepreneurial experience is a plus!
COMMITMENT: 2.5 HOURS, at one of our Partner Schools across the Bay Area.

Description
BUILD is supporting six LAUSD schools with the delivery of our business and entrepreneurship curriculum. Throughout the school year students will learn design thinking, form business teams, and develop an advanced prototype of a product to sell! BUILD recruiting volunteer business team mentors to support students as they form their business teams. Business team mentors are professional mentors who support and motivate a youth business team, provide recommendations for a company's vision, growth, and goals for the year, and build strong relationships with students. The volunteer commitment entails attending attend 10 class sessions throughout the second semester of the school year, 2 in person, 8 virtually.
